Agile Intimacy Weekend
with Motley and Maezi

Agile [adjective]: able to move quickly and easily
Agile Development [noun]: iterative growth cycles designed to prioritize effective process and yield quick, tangible results
Agile Intimacy [noun]: process-oriented relationship development that focuses exclusively on positive reinforcement and collaborative effort

All relationships -- romantic partnerships, friendships, even and especially our relationships with ourselves -- are intimate, and none of them are static. We have founded these classes on the principle that our relationships all have the potential to be better, brighter, and more joyful than they already are. We believe in a world where “the best we can do” is not a limit, but a horizon that expands as we grow and learn more about ourselves and each other.

Working from this fundamental position, we developed a suite of classes that combine data, perspectives, and tools from a variety of fields, from software development to neuroscience to game theory. We bring a practical, data-driven approach to creating achievable goals and celebrating visible results. We’d like to give you tools to find the best things about the work you already do, and make it simpler and easier to get the kind of progress and satisfaction that motivate and inspire you. We’ve developed this weekend as a way to walk you through the things we’ve tested and tried, to explore both our successes and mistakes, and to help you take the things that work for us and customize them to your own life and experience.

Together, all five classes create an interrelated network of new ideas, accessible tools, and challenging perspectives that help us break apart the pieces of the relationship puzzle and reconnect them into an ever-growing new picture.

Come with us on a deeply irreverent, joyfully subversive exploration of how everything we’ve been taught to be scared of is actually the most fun. We don’t promise perfection, but we can guarantee iteration, puns, science, and belly laughs.

Class Descriptions

Collaborative Competition
Ever nodded in agreement that we’re not competing for the title of Edgiest Player, but found yourself wanting to be the showiest scene in the room anyway? Ever been rough housing with a friend or partner only to find it’s suddenly more serious than anybody expected? So have we! This is a workshop on how to put those competitive urges to healthy, intuitive, productive uses instead of trying to stifle or ignore them. We’re going to discuss and practice real-world techniques for engaging with play partners, relationship partners, friends, and strangers in ways that let your show pony shine without it being at someone’s expense. We’re turning Smartest Kid in the Room into a game with no losers, and we’d like you to come with us!
90 minute class: 50 minutes lecture, 40 minutes practical tools.

Push Me Pull You: The Art of the Exchange
Whether it’s gifts, service, or just pointed looks, we exchange with one another all the time. There is an art to both giving and receiving gracefully, allowing that awkward push on the playground to graduate into a carefully improvised tango. We’re going to examine common discomforts and awkwardness around giving and receiving in casual and intimate contexts, and develop perspectives on boundaries, expectations, and communication techniques that will help us engage one another more fully and freely. We’ll apply practical tools to real-world situations, and come away with a solid understanding of how to bring more grace and flexibility to any exchange.
90 minute class: 60 minutes lecture, 30 minutes practical tools.

Pussy Grabs Back: The Unsubtle Art of Seeking Cuntrol
We all know that just lying there and liking it is an urban myth - you can lie there or you can like it, but usually not both. Bottoming for a fisting scene takes control and coordination in order for everyone involved to have a good time, but most fisting classes only talk about the top. In this practical workshop, we will lead the demo entirely from the bottom’s perspective, taking a deep dive into the skills that will turn you into a champion fistee. We will discuss body control, mindsets, and key communication strategies to orchestrate a mind blowing scene. Attendees should note that this is not Vaginal Fisting 101, and some familiarity with the mechanics will be useful (but not required).
90 minute class: lecture and practical tools intermingled throughout.

Ground Game
We’ve called this class ground game and not ground work because it’s about turning the work of maintaining and evolving a long term relationship into a game that’s fun and satisfying to play. Together, we’re going to discuss how to make the things we do to nurture and grow our relationships into consistently rewarding, actively delightful conversations that don’t ever have to be a chore. We’re going to learn practical tools for developing consistent intimacy and mutual support, in ways that fit naturally into day-to-day life. We’re going to make real the seemingly impossible ideal that heavy lifting with each other doesn’t have to be hard work or exhausting. We’re going to confront and debunk the tropes that have taught us to believe that relationships have to be hard, painful work.
90 minute class: 50 minutes lecture, 40 minutes facilitated discussion and practical tools.

Promises You Can Keep
Everybody knows that feeling of promising a thing to someone they love, and not being able to keep that promise. We’re going to take the concepts we introduced in Ground Game and drill down to a detailed analysis of commitments, setting achievable goals, and creating cycles of success that build on one another. We’re going to expand the idea of normal as a process into functional algorithms for making continuous improvement a natural and rewarding part of all our relationships, and explore how making commitments to ourselves and each other can be a satisfying challenge rather than an intimidating anxiety monster.
90 minute class: 50 minutes lecture, 40 minutes facilitated discussion.

About Motley and Maezi

MOTLEY
Motley is a dedicated pervert with almost 20 years’ experience in the scene and more than 10 years of teaching other perverts how to have more fun and joy in their perversions. They specialize in issues around communication, consent, and negotiation. They’re excited to bring passion, enthusiasm, and skepticism to their work, and teaching gives them the opportunity to share their discoveries and drives with others. Their day job is teaching professional service providers how to engage with kinky folks, queer folks, and all kinds of other weirdos in a way that supports and serves their unique needs.
PREVIOUS STUDENTS SHOULD NOTE: the presence or absence of sock puppets is neither guaranteed nor forbidden, and subject to negotiation. Bribery in the form of unusual favors, delicious food, or cold hard cash gleefully accepted.

MAEZI
Maezi delights in bringing the intersections of their passions, profession, and kink to the classroom. A deep believer in creating supportive, accessible, and reciprocal learning spaces, they dedicate just as much energy toward fostering how we learn as what we learn. Their classes explore tools and strategies for navigating interpersonal dynamics from a framework of mutual growth, expression, and care, whether that be between strangers in a dungeon or lifelong romantic partners. In the Tampa Bay area, Maezi has taught at Florida Power Exchange, and since moving to DC they have been developing coursework and workshops for academic and professional associations. They work in human capital consulting and organizational development, where they specialize in training & development and diversity & inclusion programming.
